February 21st, 2010 | IMAGIKA to CO-HEADLINE Warriors Of Metal Fest III Open Air |
|
More WOMFEST III Bands Announced - 2nd Official Press Release
It is time to announce more bands for the Warriors Of Metal Fest III Open Air, so here we go:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Warriors Of Metal Fest III Open Air is privilaged to announce that IMAGIKA the Bay
Area Thrash Metal band that raised the roof at last year's Nightmare Metal
Fest II in San Antonio have agreed to co-headline the Friday night of the
Fest with the legendary Omen. George Call, Omen's vocalist commented that
"I remember [Imagika] was one of the better bands of that Fest" and the
Fest organizer, the world famous voice of Metal, Lance King even told
Norman Skinner, Imagika's vocalist, after their rousing performance on
march 22nd, 2009 that "you guys were way better than I had imagined…!"
This opportunity materialized when Metal Messiah Radio's Lord Cruson
suggested the organizers of Warriors Of Metal Fest III Open Air to
consider another bay area Thrash Metal outfit, Taunted who had recently
done an interview with MMR's DJ Dave Softee. Sampling one song was enough
for the organizers to realize the quality of this band and begin the
process of securing them for the 2nd day of the Festival. Jacques Cerano,
the band's talented vocalist states "Taunted is proud to take part in such
a great festival and share the stage with so many cool bands. This will be
the band's first time venturing to OHIO and we feel honored to visit this
great state and spread some BAY AREA BLEEDING from TAUNTED!" Of course,
having seen Imagika in action before and realizing that these two bands
share the same drummer, the Fest’s main sponsor, Farvahar Records
immediately approached Imagika for the afformentioned co-headlining
position. Imagika will be releasing a new album in the March of this year
entitled “Poertrait Of A Hanged Man” and the members all agreed to make
the trek to Ohio for the first time to rock the Midwest Metalheads and
promote their new album.
The Puerto Rican Epic Metallers of Dantesco are also a new addition to the
roster. Fest sponsor Datis Alaee noted that “we first learned of
Dantesco’s affiliation with Omen last year when George Call of Aska let us
know that Dantesco’s vocalist, Erico sang for Omen in their South
American tour but unfortunately we could not accommodate them for last
year’s Fest because all our slots were full. But this year with Omen
co-headlining one of the nights, it is our pleasure to be able to bring
Dantesco’s unique style of Metal to our patrons and let these comrades
hang with eachother in yet another Metal Festival!”
Former Metal Blade artists and local big draw band, Jacobs Dream from
Columbus, Ohio were confirmed to the Warriors Of Metal Fest III Open Air
shortly after the conclusion of WOMFEST II last year. With their
Progressive Power Metal style and great vocals courtesy of Chaz Bond,
their inclusion was a no-brainer especially since their drummer Gary
Holtzman let the Fest organizers know that “we can bring hundreds of our
fans, even from out of state for an Open Air type of Metal Festival .“ As
such they were given the direct support to the headliners spot since the
organizers strongly believe in their ability to provide a vast audience
for Imagika & the legendary Omen.
As the word spread about Cage, Aska & Omen headlining this show, Jason
Myers of the veteran Pittsburgh Metal outfit Icarus Witch contacted the
Warriors Of Metal Fest III Open Air to secure a spot for their band on
this year’s show. Fest organizer and producer, Ryan Carroll commented
that “we had heard very good things about Icarus Witch from our last
year’s Fest partner, Jeremy Golden of Heaven & Hell Records, and I had
talked to Jason about a potential collaboration before and found him a
down-to-earth artist with no ego issues and in fact a person with great
enthusiasm and of the same mindset as Datis and I as to our common goal
and what we’re trying to accomplish with this Festival, namely building
the Metal scene back in our region.” Therefore with the availability of
Icarus Witch, negotiations were short and sweet and within several days
Jason posted a blog on the band’s myspace site stating that “Icarus Witch
are pleased to announce we have been added to the already stellar lineup
of Warriors Of Metal III Open Air festival in central Ohio this June 26th.
We are looking forward to headbanging alongside some classic, traditional
metal bands like ASKA, CAGE and the legendary OMEN!”
The word gets around fast when a band like Icarus Witch is booked to a
regional Metal Fest, and without wait the Progressive Thrash Metallers of
Beyond Fallen, from Wilkes-Barre, PA signed to the Dutch indie Metal label
Melissa Records contacted the Warriors Of Metal Fest III organizers to be
considered for playing at the Fest. Fortunately for them, both of the
organizers were already fans of Beyond Fallen and realized that having
this great band which had already played at the 10th Anniversary show of
Headbanger’s Open Air in Germany back in 2007, would bring good
credibility to the Fest. And thus Beyond Fallen’s spot on the Fest was
secured.
The well known Power Thrash Metal band, Widow from Raleigh, NC was the
next band to be added to the roster. Farvahar Records co-owners had
already seen Widow headline the 2nd night of LiveeviL Promotions’ Kansas
City Power Metal Fest II in mid-August of 2009 and were aware of their
melodic Metal style which is a perfect fit for the Warriors Of Metal
Festival. Additionally with the knowledge that Widow was already booked
to the 2010 SwordBrothers IX Metal Fest in Germany later in the year, the
prospect of having 3 out of the 10 Swordbrothers’ 9th annual Festival
roster perform at Warriors Of metal Fest III was an honor they were
determined to hold on to. With Widow’s generous offer to work with the
organizers to make Warriors Of Metal Fest III Open Air a true Metalhead’s
event to remember, their place in the history of the Fest was firmly
secured.
Last but not least, Farvahar Records’ own True Heavy Metal band from
Arvika, Sweden, Gallows End, with their album completed and awaiting
European distribution with US release to follow has long been booked to
perform at Warriors Of Metal Fest III Open Air this summer in the midst of
a 2 week US tour which is currently being worked on. Gallows End’s
connections to their fans and infectious Metal music has been winning
audiences over through online Metal radio stations to be able to excite
fans to provide them with street teams in Sweden, USA, Italy and Russia
and garnering favorable reviews for their initial demo materials and
subsequent debut album samples from critics. It will be The Fest’s
distinct honor and pleasure to host such a great Metal band from Sweden as
the Festival’s very first European band. Likewise, the band’s founder
Thord Klarstrom states that “all the guys and I are extremely excited
about this opportunity to play in USA along such a distinguished cast of
Metal bands we have been listening to and enjoying while making our own
music. We cannot wait to come to the US and rock out with some of our
favorite Metal bands and personally connect with our fans across the
pond!”
More bands will be announced in short time. For information about the
Festival please visit the official Festival online sites:

January 19th, 2010 | IMAGIKA to Premiere New Song and CD Cover for “Portrait Of A Hanged Man” |
IMAGIKA will premiere the song “Scared To Death” and the CD cover exclusively through Metal-Rules.com on Monday, January the 18th for the upcoming Metalville release “Portrait Of A Hanged Man”
Comments Guitarist Steve Rice: “Metal Rules and Evil G have been huge supporters of the band since the beginning and we wanted to show our appreciation by premiering the opening track “Scared To Death” from our new CD through the site. This song is a good ass kicker and definitely sets the tone for the rest of the CD… Heavy, fast and melodic!”
Evil G from Metal Rules says: “Imagika were one of the first bands that sent their material to me for review way back when Metal-Rules.com was still taking shape back in 1997. They set the bar very high for what I expected from other indie/debut releases and continued to impress me throughout the years. Their music has maintained its strength and vision right up to their forthcoming 2010 release “Portrait of A Hanged Man”. I'm honored they've chosen Metal Rules to exclusively feature the track “Scared To Death”. The song is a perfect example of the band's masterful mixture of aggression and melody.”
The CD Cover which drummer Henry Moreno created will also be revealed.
Henry Moreno comments on the artwork, “Well, obviously the concept had to be something to do with the CD title so I created the first piece which was a person with a noose around their neck but it didn’t have that “CD cover” feel. Metalville and Steve made some suggestions and one thing they came up with was what if the hanging man was a silhouette. I thought that was a cool idea and ran with that and really just followed the theme of the song, which is about a person seeing the haunting vision of a portrait of man being hanged that comes to life. Metalville and the band really liked the finished product and so the CD cover was born! The original first piece is also included in the CD booklet. I really had fun with this project and I believe it’s some of the best work I have done so far. I hope the fans enjoy it as much as we do.”
